Hidden deep within the northern Himalayas of Nepal, the Tsum Valley Homestay & Camping Trek offers an unforgettable journey into one of the country’s most secluded and spiritually rich regions. Bordering Tibet and surrounded by towering peaks like Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal, and Boudha Himal, Tsum was once a restricted zone, preserving centuries-old Tibetan traditions and untouched landscapes.

This 18-day adventure is designed for trekkers seeking a deeper cultural connection, peaceful wilderness, and an off-the-beaten-path experience. Each step takes you further into an ancient land of prayer flags, mani walls, yak caravans, and warm smiles. Nights are spent in cozy local homestays and serene campsites, offering you a rare chance to live like a local.

Perfect for travellers craving spiritual depth, pristine nature, and community-based trekking.

Why Choose This Trek?

This trek is more than a trail—it’s a journey through faith, culture, and untouched wilderness. While less trafficked than other Himalayan routes, it rewards you with raw beauty, genuine connections, and moments of quiet awe. With a careful blend of teahouse trekking, homestays, and camping, this experience supports local livelihoods while giving you an immersive window into Himalayan life.

Itinerary

Upon arrival, our team will greet you at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. Settle in and meet your trekking guide for a short briefing about the adventure ahead.

Discover UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Join a guided cultural tour of Kathmandu’s sacred landmarks like Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple. Finalize trek permits and check your gear.

Scenic drive through hills, rivers, and villages. Enjoy a full-day drive via Arughat and Soti Khola, passing through lush landscapes, small towns, and riverbanks. Overnight in a riverside teahouse at Machha Khola.

Begin trekking along the Budhi Gandaki River. Start your trek on a winding trail through forests, ridges, and traditional villages. Cross suspension bridges and follow the river upstream to reach the stone-paved village of Jagat.

Enter the mystical Tsum Valley region. Ascend past subtropical forests and reach the entrance to Tsum Valley. Lokpa marks the beginning of Tibetan-influenced culture. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and fresh mountain air.

Tibetan architecture and hillside settlements. Climb steep forested trails and cross wooden bridges. Arrive at Chumling, a charming village with traditional stone houses and views of the Ganesh Himal range.

Wide Himalayan valley and ancient Buddhist culture. Walk through pine forests, cross mani walls, and explore terraced fields. Reach the beautiful twin villages of Chhokang and Paro. Stay in a welcoming local homestay.

Get closer to the Tibetan border and pure serenity. A gentle walk along the upper valley brings you to Nile, the last settlement before the Tibetan frontier. The landscape becomes more alpine and raw.

Visit the region’s most sacred monastery. Climb up to the historic Mu Gompa, offering panoramic views and spiritual calm. Option to visit the nearby Dhephu Doma Nunnery, nestled on a quiet ridge. Return to Nile for the night.

Interact with Buddhist nuns and experience monastic life. Walk downhill to Rachen Gompa, one of the largest nunneries in the region. Take time to observe prayer rituals and connect with local spiritual traditions.

Retrace scenic trails and reconnect with locals. Descend through forest trails and remote villages, appreciating the beauty from a new angle. Return to Chumling and rest in a familiar, friendly homestay.

Forests, waterfalls, and cultural richness. A long and rewarding day as you drop down to lower elevations. Philim is a lovely hill village known for its mixed culture and terraced fields.

Natural hot springs and riverside scenery. Walk along peaceful trails and enjoy a soak at Tatopani’s natural hot springs. Continue on to Khorlabesi for a restful evening near the river.

Final footsteps through green hills and farms. Trek past rice fields and friendly villages to reach Soti Khola. Celebrate the end of your walking journey with your trekking team.

Return to the capital city through scenic countryside. Relax in a private vehicle as you trace the road back to Kathmandu. Check into your hotel and enjoy a refreshing evening in the city.

Enjoy leisure time or last-minute sightseeing. A flexible day to explore local markets, try Nepali food, or unwind in a garden café. Optional activities include a yoga session or cultural workshop.

I went to Everest Base Camp trek in the year 2012 with Shri Deepak Khanal of Osho World Adventure. It was a very good experience to be with Shri Deepakji for this trek. From Kathmandu-Kathmandu, there was nothing to worry if you go with Osho World. You will feel your home in the heart of Himalyan Mountains. The arrangement and planning for the trek was very nice. I recommend Osho World adventure for anybody who want to wander in the Nepal Himalaya. I thank once again to Shri Deepak Khanal for his endeavor in taking and guiding many of us to this beautiful world of Nepal Himalaya. Wish him further success...

The trek is very nice and varied, the accommodations and the food were very good. We got stuck in Kutumsang due to snow and illness. Our guide Ram did everything possible to bring us back safely. Ram was always looked after and did everything in his power. Our guide Ram became our friend. Thank you for everything. We highly recommend Deepak from Osho Adventures and especially our Guide Ram.

Perfect place for Tailors Tour Packages for Nepal and Tibet We five friends from USA and India visited Osho World Adventure, Kathmandu last month to get support to organize Kathmandu heritage tour packages followed by Meditation and Transformation Camp in Nepal. Mr. Deepak - the owner of the company himself helped us to tailor our tour packages and helped us to organize mediation camp at Tapoban. They helped us to develop our packages such a way that our tour became the most memorial and blessed one. The team is more meditative, spiritual and very kind and friendly. They treat you humanely. You can trust them confidently. Overall, the perfect tour operator in Nepal, where you get services with more personalized.

Very nice people and good service We went shopping for a good travel agency in Thamel and we immediately felt at ease at Osho World Adventures. All the staff is really friendly and genuine. Deepak (the owner) even invited us to celebrate a festival with his family. At Osho's, we booked a chitwan tour and we did a trekking. The trekking (nagarkot, chisopani, dhulikhel and namo buddha) was very nice! We stayed at nice hotels and all the meals were included (you can choose from the menu). The guide (Raj) was very friendly and explained a lot about the daily life in Nepal and about the festivals. He also knew a lot about wildlife and took good care of his customers. We always felt very safe. The Chitwan tour was also very nice. Osho provided busseats and arranged the hotel with sightseeings. Hotel Jungle sunset Camp is situated next to the river and next to the olifant bathing. We even saw rhinos from our hotel! We would fully recommend Osho to others who would like to have a good service for a reasonable price and very friendly staff.

Fazit: 100% Empfehlung.

A good choice for your trip in Nepal The travel agency's master is very talkative. He will plan your travel immediately and give you advice properly. Not only forehead but also proceed and after about your trip provide you good service.老闆是個非常健談的人。他會依照你所希望的旅遊行程作立即性的規劃,也會給予適當的行程建議。不管是行程前、旅途中或售後服務都很不錯。但希望機場接送的時間安排上可更充足些。
