Khopra Danda trek is a newly opened route in the Annapurna region. The trek takes us on off beaten trails with amazing views of everything that Nepal has to offer from awe striking mountain Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna (I, II, III and south), Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre, Lamjung Himal and Nilgiri views, rural villages, and rice fields We pass through Rhododendron forest, and meet himalayan wildlife like pheasants and yaks. We can also go up to the holy and beautiful Khayar Lake. This trek also lead to Ghorepani Poon Hill, you get the best sunrise views over the massive Annapurna, Dhaulagiri Nilgiri, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre from the top of Poon Hill (3,210m) . This is a very unique trail that many people don’t even know about!
Our journey begins with a scenic ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara, then a trek through the vibrant Gurung village of Ghandruk. The trail continues following Tadapani and then on the off-beaten trail to Bayali, which goes through a thick forest of rhododendron, oak, and pine. You will not meet anyone else here as it is a very rare trail. And lodges here will have a very homestay feel. The trail takes us even closer towards Annapurna South to Khopra danda, where we can see panoramic views of the entire Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range. The Khayar Lake is another attraction of this trek, but it is optional for those who want to take a roundabout trek and come back to Khopra Danda. Then the trail train turns around and down to Swanta and up to Ghorepani through Bayeli Kharka and Tadapani, and hikes to poonhill for the famous view, and finally ends at Pokhara. Overall, it’s a short and not a difficult trek, and the best part is that only a few people know about it!
Trishuli River is one of the major tributaries of the Narayani River basin in central Nepal. For those travellers who are seeking to have a rafting experience around Kathmandu valley, this river is an ideal spot. This rafting tour is also suitable for the person who is a beginner. Though this river does not have huge rapids but there are still some exciting rapids which can take away your breath for a few seconds. Enjoying the beautiful scenery, one can enjoy this adventurous activity in a peaceful environment. This river acts as a confluence between two different sides of the country. On one side, there is a highway named after King Prithvi Narayan Shah. Whereas the opposite side of the road is relatively wild, and you could also see some wildlife with a profusion of colorful birds, including eagles and vultures.
You can experience the thrills of white-water on the course of three days trip. Starting your rafting tour, you will be briefed by our professional guide. Afterwards, set out for the rafting tour in the Trishuli River. After rafting for about three hours, you will stop for lunch, and after lunch, you will continue to raft for a couple of hours. In the evening, you will camp overnight at the riverbank. The same continues for the next day as well. On our last day, you will raft to the ending point and then drive back to Kathmandu.
Back in Kathmandu, you have the option to either follow our suggested itinerary to do a private sightseeing tour or you may also explore the city on your own; in that case, we only provide you with the hotel with breakfast. You may check the price of this option under the booking section.

Drive to Nayapul by bus from Pokhara, it will take about one hour. Then we will trek from Nayapul to Ghandruk. We follow the Modi Khola, cross the river in Birethanti, to follow Modi Khola valley passing Sauly Bazaar, this will take about 2 hours, then we climb up the steps and continue to walk. The beautiful Gurung village of Ghandruk, a village with vibrant Buddhist monasteries and houses made of slate and stone.With beautiful mountain views and rich in Gurung traditions, overnight at the guest house in Ghandruk.

We leave the terraced hillsides and the village of Ghandruk behind and trek through rhododendron and oak forest. There are no villages on this route, but there are a few teahouses at the place called Baisi Kharkha (Buffalo Grassing place) to rest. We will get to see awe-inspiring views of Machhapuchhare (6993m), Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Annapurna South (7237m), and Lamjung Himal (6931m) along the way.

From Tadapani, we walk the first half hour through the forest of rhododendrons and Primula. Then, after 4 hours of gradual climb, we reach above the timberline with amazing views of the Annapurna. We will stop for lunch, my a streams and continue through the open countryside to reach a small pass. From here, the trail descends through rhododendron to a clearing known as Bayli Kharka and the lodge. From the village, we can enjoy superb views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, the seventh highest mountain in the world.

From Bayli Kharka, we will descend through forests to reach the pastures of Chistibang. From Chistibang, we trek for around 2 hours to ascend above the timberline to reach the ridge at Kopra. You might get to see the Himalayan tahr and the Danfe pheasant on the way. On top, we will see amazing views on all sides of Dhaulagiri, Damphus Peak, Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri, Annapurna 1, Annapurna South, and deep down Sikha.

From Khopra Ridge, we can walk to Khayar Lake at 4600m, which will take around 5 hours. We’ll take a steep trail on the ridge with stone steps with a gorgeous view of nature. After visiting the lake, we will come back down to Khopra. For those who don’t want to visit the lake, we will trek down a trail to reach the nice little village of Swanta, with incredibly friendly people, which is also the community cheese factory. where not many other tourists. You can explore the place as well as taste cheese.

We will descend through the village fields to a small river, then cross the suspension bridge and head upwards to the village of Chittre, where we will join the main trekking trail. There is a further ascent to reach Ghorepani. We will enjoy great views of the Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre massif, and a well-earned rest.

we ascend to poon Hill (3,210m) early morning to view sunrise over the whole Annapurna, Dhaulagiri massif including Mt Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Mt Manaslu and surrounding rice terrace A favourite spot among photographers After visiting Poonhill, we will trek back to nayapul then drive to pokhara. You will have the rest of the day sightseeing on your own in Pokhara, and also get some adequate sleep for tomorrow’s rafting.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be picked up by one of the representatives of Nature Trail. Further, you will be driven along the Prithvi highway passing by the rice field until you reach Charaudi, the raft starting point. After arrival, you will be briefed by our guide regarding the types of waves, the process of paddling, the rescuing process, safety matters, tips, etc. Then wear your rafting gear and start your rafting. At some point in the day, you hit class 3 rapid called “Twin Rock” and other rapids. After crossing several types of waves and rafting for about a couple of hours, stop for lunch. After lunch, continue your raft and hit rapids called “Upset” and “Surprise,” which are of Class 3 & 4.

Continuing our rafting tour, we will have our breakfast on the bank of the river. After breakfast, pack up your stuff and get ready to hit the rapids. On the following day, you will experience rapids called “S-Bend” and “Pin Ball” which are of Class III. Like on the previous day, you will stop for lunch for about an hour and continue your rafting, hitting a few classes 2 or 3 rapids out of which are “Tea Pot” and “Rocky 2” until you reach Simaltar. Upon arrival at Simaltar, you will conclude today’s raft. Our crew members will prepare a delicious dinner and entertain you with dancing and singing in the evening.

Prolonging our rafting tour, we set out on our last day of the rafting tour after an appetizing breakfast. Enjoy the mild rapids and, after a couple of hours of rafting, conclude your trip. Change your clothes and drive back to Kathmandu with the joyful memories you had!

After an early breakfast, our guide will take you to the famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, and Patan Durbar Square. Later in the afternoon, we visit Kopan Monastery, a Tibetan Buddhist monastery.
Boudhanath Stupa
Boudhanath Stupa is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site. The white domed stupa, decorated with colourful prayer flags, stands on a giant mandala. Built during the 5th century, Boudhanath is an important centre of Tibetan Buddhism. Legend has it that the bones of Kasyapa Buddha(one of Buddha’s incarnations) lie at the base of this stupa.
Pashupatinath Temple
Pashupatinath Temple is one of the holiest Hindu shrines in the world. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple lies on the banks of the sacred river Bagmati. The richly ornamented pagoda temple houses the sacred Linga, or phallic symbol, of Lord Shiva.
Patan Durbar Square
Patan Durbar Square is an enchanting combination of palace buildings, artistic courtyards, and graceful pagoda temples. The former royal palace complex is the center of Patan’s religious and social life, and houses a museum containing an array of bronze statues and religious objects. One remarkable monument here is a 17th-century temple dedicated to the Hindu god Krishna, built entirely of stone. Hiranya Varna Mahavihar(Golden Temple), Kumbeshwor Temple, and Patan Palace Museum are some of the jewels of Patan Durbar Square.
Kopan Monastery
Surrounded by lush forest, Kopan Monastery is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery situated a few minutes’ drive from Boudhanath. Its name comes from the name of the hill on which it was built. The monastery serves as a spiritual retreat as well as a meditation and Buddhist learning centre for devout Buddhists. Many western visitors take the annual month-long meditation courses offered by the monastery. These courses generally combine traditional Lam Rim teachings with informal discussion, several periods of guided meditation, and a vegetarian diet.

Swoyambhunath Stupa – The Monkey Temple
You can watch over the valley from the top of a hillock on its western side. Swoyambhu is also known as Samhengu and the Monkey Temple because of the countless monkeys living on the premises.
Kathmandu Durbar Square
This complex of palaces, courtyards, and temples, built between the 12th and 18th centuries, used to be the seat of the ancient Malla kings of Kathmandu. An intriguing piece here is the 17th-century stone inscription set into the wall of the palace with writings in 15 languages. The Durbar Square is the social, religious, and urban focal point of the city. There are also three museums inside the palace building.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square
Visit the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, the Royal Residential Quarter of Bhupatindra Malla, the famous five-storied temple of Nyatapola in Pagoda style, Batsala temple, Bhairavnath temple, Duttatraya temple, Pujari Muth, and the Palace of 55 windows.
Late noon, we drive to Nagarkot. On the way, you can enjoy the serene beauty of the mountains with a magnificent view of the sunset.

We wake up early today to catch a glimpse of the spectacular sunrise from Nagarkot over the panoramic mountains. Weather permitting, the seemly endless chain of mountains appears glossy, while the entire Kathmandu valley can be seen towards the west.
We continue our tour visiting the following places and drive back to Kathmandu.
Changu Narayan (World Heritage Site)
The temple of Changu Narayan is one of the oldest temples in Nepal. Situated in the small village of Changu in Bhaktapur district, Changu Narayan was built by a Lichhavi King during the 4th century. The temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, houses several ancient statues and stone inscriptions.
Khokana and Bungmati
Khokana and Bungmati are beautiful traditional Newari villages in the Lalitpur district. These villages are famous for their rich culture, wood carvings, and sculptures. Rato Machhindranath Temple and Karya Binayak Temple are the must-visit sites in Bungmati.
Evening, enjoy a complimentary farewell dinner at a local Nepali restaurant with a cultural program.
