Itinerary

You could already be in Kathmandu, or you may be arriving on this very day. Anyway, we welcome you to Nepal! On this first day we transfer you to your hotel and brief you about the trek if time permits. You will not do much except observe the ambiance around you and get acquainted with the country.

Today would be the most exhilarating day, where your leader introduces you to our city tour expert, who guides you to the most pious Hindu and Buddhist religious places that are listed as world heritage sites and elucidates for you the entire mysticism over their existence.

On this day we have our breakfast by 6:00 a.m. in the morning and head towards tourist Bus Park at Thamel and board a tourist bus to Pokhara. The bus ride will take around 7 hours through curvy roads of hilly terrain with couple of breaks in between for snacks and lunch. The drive to Pokhara on one of the major highways is exhilarating with beautiful views of never leaving tributaries, lush green hills and roadside settlements.

The day starts early by taking a vehicle out of Pokhara. The drive takes around an hour and half to Nayapul and then the Annapurna Poon Hill Ghorepani Ghandruk Trek officially starts on foot from here onwards. The first day of the trek we ascend somewhere around 500m, all the way to Tikhedhunga. Most of the day’s walk is on the jeep track, and is a very easy and good first day walk.

We start climbing on the significant man made steps – around 3500 steps, all the way to Banthanti via ulleri. It is very beautiful to see the landscape change on this day, the barren ridge turns into sparse trees, which further turns into dense subtropical forest. We would as well traverse through dense forest of Rhododendron and pine. These forested land is a home of wild habitats like langur monkeys, barking deer and different species of birds. Keep your eyes open for wild animals. We will stay overnight in Ghorepani.

Walking through the beautiful Lord of the Rings like trail set-up is overwhelming and getting to Ghorepani the leading protected area in Nepal with the world largest Rhododendron forest is extraordinary.

We will leave our teahouse at Ghorepani by 5 am in the morning and take a 45 minutes hike to Poon Hill to witness a grassy knoll famous as viewpoint sunrise over the mountains of Annapurna massif. Morning sunrise view from Poon Hill is one cherishing moment with panoramic view of mountains like Annapurna, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Dhampus peak, Fishtail etc. Looking down upon the Kali Gandaki Gorge, the world’s deepest gorge is something remarkable.

2 hour and half walk to Nayapul, the starting point and depending on your preference the leader will organize your lunch. An hour and half drive back to Pokhara.

On this day we have our breakfast by 6:00 a.m. in the morning and get ready to head towards Kathmandu. The bus ride will take around 7 hours through curvy roads of hilly terrain with couple of breaks in between for snacks and lunch. Tracing the same way back we reach Kathmandu and we transfer you back at the hotel.

Today we say our final goodbye. Our representative will come to see you off at the airport. Hoping you had a pleasant and wonderful trekking experience we bid you goodbye.
