Sankhu is an ancient Newari town located just 17 km away from Kathmandu city. Once an important stop on the old trade route from Kathmandu to Lhasa, its rich cultural heritage and traditional lifestyle make it a must-visit place for anyone who wants to get away at least for a day from the humdrum of routine work and the pollution of Kathmandu city. The famous Vajrayogini Temple built by Hindu King Prakash Malla in 1655 is one of the best tourist attractions of Sankhu. We will start our hike from Sankhu visiting Vajrayogini Temple and ascend towards Manichaur passing through different villages and jungle with beautiful landscapes. We will walk uphill for about 3 hours. We will have a fun-filled introduction program at the top of the hill and will descend back to Sankhu bus park in about 2 hours.

Itinerary

Drive from Kathmandu (approx. 1–1.5 hours)
Enjoy a scenic ride passing through the outskirts of the city and entering the peaceful village of Sankhu.

Start the hike from Sankhu Bazaar, a historic Newari town.
Visit Bajrayogini Temple, a sacred site dedicated to the goddess Bajrayogini, located on the hill above Sankhu.
Spend some time exploring the ancient architecture, spiritual surroundings, and panoramic views.

Hike through lush pine forests and quiet trails.
Enjoy nature, bird sounds, and occasional views of the Kathmandu Valley and surrounding hills.
The trail is shaded and peaceful, perfect for nature lovers.

Rest at the Manichur hilltop.
Capture stunning photos, enjoy your packed lunch, and take in the fresh mountain air.

Begin your descent through a different trail (if preferred), passing through more forest paths and small village settlements.
Arrive back at Sankhu by late afternoon.

End the day with a comfortable drive back to Kathmandu.

It was a very good experience to be with Shri Deepakji for this trek. From Kathmandu-Kathmandu, there was nothing to worry if you go with Osho World.  Verified Helambu Trek with a awesome Guide We booked the Helambu Trek for 6 days. The processing of the booking was straightforward and the people were very nice. The trek is very nice and varied, the accommodations and the food were very good. We got stuck in Kutumsang due to snow and illness. Our guide Ram did everything possible to bring us back safely. Ram was always looked after and did everything in his power. Our guide Ram became our friend. Thank you for everything. Встретил в аэропорту с венками, проводил с шарфиками:) Все вопросы решались быстро и без "напрягов" с улыбкой и доброжелательностью. Удивлены были такой заботой, учитывая, что мы не были "крупными" клиентами. В любом случае, местный говорящий на русском - это редкость.  Verified Very nice people and good service We went shopping for a good travel agency in Thamel and we immediately felt at ease at Osho World Adventures. All the staff is really friendly and genuine. Deepak (the owner) even invited us to celebrate a festival with his family. At Osho's, we booked a chitwan tour and we did a trekking. The trekking (nagarkot, chisopani, dhulikhel and namo buddha) was very nice! We stayed at nice hotels and all the meals were included (you can choose from the menu). The guide (Raj) was very friendly and explained a lot about the daily life in Nepal and about the festivals. He also knew a lot about wildlife and took good care of his customers. We always felt very safe. The Chitwan tour was also very nice. Osho provided busseats and arranged the hotel with sightseeings. Hotel Jungle sunset Camp is situated next to the river and next to the olifant bathing. We even saw rhinos from our hotel! We would fully recommend Osho to others who would like to have a good service for a reasonable price and very friendly staff.

 Verified Excellente Leistungen Ich und meine Freundin haben uns unsere Nepalreise (Manaslu Trek + Chitwan Np) durch Osho organisieren gelassen. Die Pläne wurden mit zeitlichem Vorsprung abgesprochen, damit wir nicht viel Zeit in Kathmandu verlieren mussten. Letzendlich hat alles wunderbar geklappt und die gesamte Reise erfolgte dann problemlos. Herr Deepak ist sehr flexible und man kann seinen Uralub wirklich individuell gestalten.
